Immune response to helminths and allergenic fungi
The Department of Infection Biology at the Uniklinikum Erlangen works on the characterization of immune responses against parasitic worms (helminths) and models of allergic inflammation. Established infection models and state-of-the-art technologies are used to elucidate the interaction of different immune cell types during induction and resolution of inflammation. Members of the department are involved in various teaching activities for students of the study programs Medicine and Molecular Medicine as well as various study programs of the Natural Sciences Faculty at the FAU.
